  • Our standard appointments are 10 minutes.
  • Urgent appointments may be less.

Standard Appointments are offered between:

  • Mornings 08.00am - 12.30pm
  • Evenings 2.00pm - 5.55pm
  • Please check each surgery for start time

Extended Access Appointments

These are provided by GP Care Wakefield, between 18.00 - 2200 Monday to Friday and 0900-1500 Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday. Telephones will be automatically diverted during operating hours.

Urgent Cases are assessed on the day.

Our surgery is very busy so to try to be more efficient and hopefully get you assessed more rapidly, our receptionists may ask you questions to try and determine how best to help you. You may be put through to one of the Doctors who may ask you further questions about your illness (triage).  (Of course, all information you give is confidential and you do not need to give any information if you would rather not.)

If your condition is non-urgent we hope for you to be able to see a GP as soon as possible, although you may have to wait longer to see a particular GP or at times of exceptional demand. You have the option to book up to 12 weeks in advance if this more convenient for you.

Teaching and training the future!

This is a teaching practice for future GP’s. There will usually be one or two Registrars in training with the practice for a period of 6-12 months. As part of the training requirement, a consultation may from time to time be recorded by video. This would only be with the patients consent. Our trainers are Dr Matthew Blackamore and Dr Nicola Williams. We also have medical students from the University of Leeds on attachment to our practice. They are supervised by Dr Joanne Blackamore.
